It was given to Sakarya University (SAU) Faculty of Theology by the Theology Accreditation Agency (IAA) at the International Accreditation Certificate Presentation Ceremony.
The ceremony held in SAU Faculty of Theology Conference Hall was attended by Sakarya University President Hamza Al, SAU Vice Presidents Prof. Dr. Ümit Kocabıçak, Prof. Dr. Özer Köseoğlu, Faculty of Theology Dean Prof. Dr. Ahmet Bostancı, Sakarya Provincial Mufti Hasan Başiş, Sakarya Provincial Director of National Education Ebubekir Sıddık Savaşçı, İAA President Prof. Dr. Halis Aydemir, İAA Board Members Prof. Dr. Rifat Türkel, Prof. Dr. Ahmet Türkan, Dr. Ümit Aktı, İAA IAC member Dr. Mokhtar Badri, İAA IAC Secretary Dr.Bahar Çelik, Faculty Deans, academicians and students.
As a result of the international accreditation application made by SAU Faculty of Theology to the Islamic Sciences Accreditation Agency (IAA) in 2020, the faculty’s first and second education programs were entitled to receive the International Accreditation Certificate.
First Accreditation in the World and Turkey in the Field of Theology
Expressing that this success achieved in the 30th year of the faculty’s establishment is much more meaningful, İAA President Prof. Dr. Halis Aydemir emphasized that Sakarya University is the most suitable place for quality in the accreditation project, which includes international evaluators from Indonesia, Qatar, Tunisia, Libya and Ivory Coast. Stating that this accreditation study is the only one in the world and in Turkey, Prof. Dr. Aydemir said that winning this document increased the quality, efficiency and transparency of SAU Faculty of Theology and thanked the İAA team for their efforts in the study.
Delivering the opening speech of the meeting, Dean of the Faculty of Theology Prof. Dr. Ahmet Bostancı said, “I believe that this important success will contribute to the national and international recognition of our faculty, will have a positive impact on student preferences, and will provide new momentum to our faculty, which has always developed for the better since its establishment.”
Prof. Dr. Ahmet Bostancı thanked the Sakarya University administration for their service to the faculty and their contributions to its development and stated that the faculty’s journey to quality will continue unabated. Prof. Dr. Bostancı expressed that they were extremely proud of the accreditation certificate they received and thanked everyone in the hall.
The ceremony ended with a group photo following the presentation of the Accreditation Certificate.
